By the team at Zergo November 3, 2021
To certify the product quality, TISI will issue the certificate and give a permit to display their certification marks. There is the test of product manner, the evaluation of the quality control system of the factory, the examination on those results, and the issuance of the grant for the use of TIS mark.
Products that display the TIS marks imply that the products have been inspected and certified by TISI to have quality and required standards, they are safe to consume and effective to use. The product certification schemes of TISI consists of 2 types with different certification marks which are voluntary certification mark and mandatory certification mark:
1. Voluntary certification mark
The voluntary certification mark is a product certification mark certifying the product quality required by TISI. The TISI has determined the regulations that only manufacturers in Thailand can apply for this mark (general standards) so that they could improve the quality of products to meet the requirements set in the standards and assure consumers or buyers that the products have creditability, quality, safety, and appropriate price.

2. Mandatory certification mark
The mandatory certification mark is a product certification mark that is required by law to meet the standards (mandatory standards) for the safety of consumers and preventing damages to the economy and society by the collective. As subject to the law, manufacturers, importers, and sellers must produce, import and sell only products that meet the standards. Moreover, the mandatory certification mark needs to be displayed for every single unit of products to imply that product is a compliance outcome with the requirements of the mandatory standard.
